Underworld don Vusimusi “Cat” Matlala faces fresh charges linked his dubious R360-million tender which News24 first exposed.

Vusimusi “Cat” Matlala is facing fresh fraud, corruption and money-laundering charges linked to his tainted R360-million SAPS tender.

Twelve high-ranking police officers who allegedly played a role in his little-known company scoring the deal will join him in the dock after they were arrested in a series of Investigating Directorate Against Corruption raids in Gauteng on Tuesday.

Matlala’s windfall was exposed by News24 in 2024 in an investigation titled 9 Lives, and he has been the subject of reportage since February 2023.

The tenderpreneur is already facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, money laundering, and defeating the ends of justice, related to the shooting of his former lover, actress Tebogo Thobejane, in 2023.
