Meanwhile, writer David Jenkins announced that he is no longer affiliated with the Booster Gold streaming series. The project is still in the works, but a new creative team will be taking over.
- It was bound to happen eventually: next January, the worlds of Marvel and Star Wars will officially meet in Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles.
- Marvel is busily casting its upcoming X-Men film, with Samara Weaving confirmed as Emma Frost and Kit Connor — already known for his role in a different comic adaptation, Heartstopper — as Cyclops.
- Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still breaking all sorts of box office records.
- DC is celebrating what would have been the 100th birthday of legendary artist Joe Kubert with a new collection of comic book covers, out September 16.

- Image Comics has elected to work with Warren Ellis again, despite the numerous sexual abuse allegations for which he has not “made amends.” That was the condition Image had previously cited as a prerequisite for publishing any more of his work.
- In an interview with Popverse, the owner of FairSquare Graphics talked about how selling their comics at live conventions is keeping the publisher alive and how they are adapting after the disastrous Diamond bankruptcy.
- Speaking of Diamond, the publishers whose comics Diamond has kept stuck in a warehouse since the bankruptcy might finally get that inventory back.
- The manga subscription service Emaqi Premium has been busily expanding its library this month. Today, August 21, marks the arrival of popular titles like Ironfist Chinmi and She’s Out of My League.
