Ali Larijani confirmed dead after Israeli airstrike
Top Iranian security official Ali Larijani has been confirmed dead, marking the most significant blow to Iran's power structure since the recent passing of supreme leader Ali Kahmeni late last month.
The country's Supreme National Security Council verified Larijani's death in an Israeli airstrike.
The strike in the Nabatiyeh district killed three people and wounded another, Lebanon’s health ministry said early Wednesday. Rescue teams are continuing to remove debris as they search for eight missing people, the ministry said.
Israeli strikes have killed 912 people in Lebanon, including at least 111 children and 67 women, since the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel reignited on March 2 after Hezbollah fired a salvo of rockets toward northern Israel, according to the health ministry.
