Brighton made sure of their place in the Conference League proper as they secured an impressive 4-0 win on aggregate over Tromso of Norway.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side drew 0-0 on the road last week before starting the Premier League season with an emphatic 4-0 win over Aston Villa.

And they brought that form to Europe, with striker Charalampos Kostoulas opening the scoring in style with a low finish.

Maxim de Cuyper, who scored against Villa, got in on the act again after Brighton won the ball back with a high press.

And midfielder Mats Wieffer all but sealed the win with an emphatic low shot from the edge of the box before half time.

Olivier Boscagli had a goal ruled out for offside before adding the fourth late on, smashing in via a deflection.

Brighton reached the last 16 of the Europa League in 2023-24 before being knocked out by Roma. And after scoring eight goals in a few days they have made a fine start to the season.
