A Vinted seller has shared the things that you may have hanging around your house gathering dust that could make you some serious money in the next six weeks.
Let's be honest, we're all in need of a clear-out. And when you can make money on your unwanted items, why wouldn't you want to do just that? From toys and books, to clothes that are tricky to get hold of, people are champing at the bit to get their hands on your pre-loved items.
That's why Laura shares her selling advice on social media, so you can earn some extra money before the summer holidays. Laura, aka @lauraresells, said that "Once the weather hits, people are going to be on the hunt for these items," and you probably already have them.
1. Travel accessories
Laura said that we're "going to the height of holiday season" in July, and therefore, people will be going to Vinted for the last-minute bits that they've forgotten about.
She said: "So, first place we're gonna start is portable charging banks. I'm not being funny but I've got a drawer of those downstairs. Like, how many do you accumulate that you don't end up using, and they're actually quite expensive to buy online."
Another thing that could make you money is luggage tags, passport covers, and travel wallets. Laura added anything "suitcase related" could be a money-spinner, along with "big shoulder bags".
She urged people to have a look around their houses to see what items they have that could be sold at this time of year.
2. Garden and outdoor accessories
Laura said it's key to stay ahead of the curve and list things like "paddling pools," because people will soon be "frantically searching" for them. During the last heatwave, Laura said they "sold out everywhere" in stores.
So, "if you've got a boxed paddling pool in your cupboard that you've never used, get it up," she urged, saying that in July especially, it'll "sell super super quick".
Outdoor games are also something to list now, too. So, if you've got a Jenga set, or a bat and ball that are still boxed, list it.
Barbecue-related items are also important to list. Laura said that her husband has a box of barbecue utensils he's never used, so "bits and pieces like that" will sell well.
3. Swimwear and swim accessories
Everyone loves to buy new swimwear when summer rolls around, and sarongs too. Beach cover-ups can sell well, according to Laura.
Goggles, armbands, swim shoes, and swim floats for kids can also fly from your Vinted storefront. "When people are going on holiday, these are the things they're going to be looking for," Laura reiterated.
Someone else added in the comments: "What about teacher gifts? End of term gifts. Candles, toiletries, travel mugs etc." Laura said this was a "great shout".
