Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has announced ₹20 lakh in assistance for the construction of additional classrooms at the Mandal Parishad Primary School (MPPS) in Rekonda of Chigurumamidi mandal in Karimnagar district.

Mr. Sanjay on Friday visited the Zilla Parishad High School and the MPPS in Rekonda as part of ‘Swachh Patashala’ programme. He participated in a ‘Tiffin Baithak’ along with the villagers on the premises of the school building.

Speaking on the occasion, he called upon the villagers to take part in the school cleanliness campaign and ensure enrolment of all school-aged children in schools.

When some villagers brought to his notice that the high school lacked a dedicated dining facility, the Union Minister assured financial assistance of ₹5 lakh for a dining facility on the school premises, sources said.

He also visited Chigurumamidi as part of his outreach programme highlighting the achievements during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 12-year tenure.
