Hyderabad: Suzlon Group is set to develop 1,325 MW of new wind energy projects in Andhra Pradesh's Rayadurg constituency in Anantapur district, involving an investment of around ₹10,000 crore, as the wind energy major expands its renewable energy footprint in the state.

The projects are expected to create around 4,000 direct and indirect jobs, a statement said. Andhra Pradesh education, IT and electronics minister Nara Lokesh will inaugurate Suzlon's new S144 wind blades at Huliker village in Kanekallu mandal on Tuesday.

Suzlon, which has more than 1,700 MW of installed wind energy capacity in Andhra Pradesh, is targeting an additional 5 GW of renewable energy projects in the state by 2030.

The company began operations in Andhra Pradesh in 2004 and has established a significant manufacturing and project presence in Anantapur district, including a rotor blade manufacturing facility at Ippuru in Kuderu mandal.

Suzlon said it has invested about ₹12,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh so far. Its Anantapur blade manufacturing facility accounts for around 40% of the company's blade production, with an annual production capacity equivalent to 1,260 MW.
