Anil Godara, Founder and Managing Director, J Estates on RBI MPC expectations

We expect the RBI to keep the repo rate unchanged, as stability in borrowing costs remains important for the real estate sector. A steady interest rate environment supports buyer confidence by ensuring greater predictability in home loan repayments, which is particularly important for end-user demand.

For developers, policy continuity helps in financial planning, project execution and investment decisions without the uncertainty of fluctuating financing costs. At a time when the housing market continues to witness healthy demand, maintaining the current rate cycle could help to sustain momentum across the real estate market and support the sector’s long-term growth trajectory.

  • June 4, 2026 15:35

Mr Aman Sharma, Managing Director and Founder, Aarize Group on RBI MPC

    • We anticipate the RBI is likely to keep the repo rate unchanged as stability is important for sustaining economic momentum and long-term investment confidence.
    • Policy consistency has a major role in supporting investment decisions, project planning and overall market sentiment. Over the past few years real estate has emerged as one of the most preferred asset classes. It is driven by strong end-user demand, rising aspirations for buyers and increasing interest from investors seeking stable and long-term returns. The sector has demonstrated resilience despite various economic challenges reflecting the fundamental strength.
    • Holding rates at current levels would help to maintain the confidence in buyers and demand that continue to drive the sector forward.

RBI MPC expectations by Sameer Sawant, Research Analyst at Mirae Asset ShareKhan

    • We believe that the RBI is likely to keep the repo rate unchanged while maintaining a neutral stance that shall allow it to have flexible approach in dealing with dynamic domestic and global macro environment.
    • Retail inflation remains below the RBI’s 4% target; however, challenges emerge from concerns over rupee depreciation, recent fuel price hikes, potential food inflation from weather-related risks, and global commodity volatility.
    • The central bank is expected to closely monitor the rupee and liquidity conditions rather than use interest rates aggressively to defend the currency. Inflation projections could be revised marginally upward while alterations to growth estimates would be monitorable, the emphasis is likely to remain on balancing growth support with price stability.
    • Overall, the policy is expected to be status quo on rates, vigilant on inflation, and supportive of financial stability and growth

MPC Expectations: Ajitabh Bharti, Co-founder and Executive Director of CapitalXB

The upcoming policy is likely to deliver a status quo on rates, accompanied by a distinctly hawkish tone. While growth remains reasonably resilient, the balance of risks on the inflation front argues against premature easing. Food price volatility, uneven monsoon distribution risks, and still-elevated core inflation momentum suggest that disinflation is neither broad-based nor durable enough to warrant policy accommodation.

Currency dynamics add another layer of caution. Recent rupee depreciation, in the context of a firm dollar and shifting global rate expectations, raises the risk of imported inflation—particularly through energy and other traded commodities. Geopolitical uncertainties, including ongoing conflicts and supply disruptions, further complicate the outlook by keeping commodity prices volatile and risk premia elevated. In such an environment, a premature easing could exacerbate external vulnerabilities and destabilize capital flows.

From a macro-financial perspective, liquidity conditions have been tighter than headline measures imply, and transmission from past rate hikes is still unfolding through credit markets. Bank credit growth remains strong but increasingly concentrated, raising concerns about localized overheating.

A hawkish hold therefore balances competing objectives: preserving credibility on inflation, managing external risks, and retaining policy flexibility. Communication is likely to stress vigilance, data dependence, and readiness to respond to both inflation surprises and external shocks, rather than signaling any near-term easing bias.

RBI likely to maintain status quo with neutral stance amid inflation and currency risks: Analyst opinion

Sameer Sawant, Research Analyst at Mirae Asset ShareKhan

RBI Monetary Policy expectation: We believe that the RBI is likely to keep the repo rate unchanged while maintaining a neutral stance that shall allow it to have flexible approach in dealing with dynamic domestic and global macro environment. Retail inflation remains below the RBI’s 4% target; however, challenges emerge from concerns over rupee depreciation, recent fuel price hikes, potential food inflation from weather-related risks, and global commodity volatility. The central bank is expected to closely monitor the rupee and liquidity conditions rather than use interest rates aggressively to defend the currency. Inflation projections could be revised marginally upward while alterations to growth estimates would be monitorable, the emphasis is likely to remain on balancing growth support with price stability. Overall, the policy is expected to be status quo on rates, vigilant on inflation, and supportive of financial stability and growth.

India Inc. Posts 14% Profit Growth Despite Energy Shock, FY27 Outlook Remains Strong: Emkay Global Financial Services.

Emkay Global in its latest India Strategy report on Q4FY26 earnings cited that Indian corporates closed FY26 on a resilient note, posting a second consecutive quarter of strong earnings growth despite escalating geopolitical tensions and energy market volatility. Robust topline expansion, broad-based sectoral participation, healthy cash flows, and resilient balance sheets have strengthened the earnings outlook for FY27, positioning Indian equities for another year of growth.

Seshadri Sen, Head of Research and Strategist at Emkay Global , said, “The Q4FY26 earnings season reinforces the strength and resilience of Corporate India. Despite a challenging global backdrop marked by geopolitical uncertainty and elevated energy prices, Indian companies have delivered another quarter of healthy earnings growth supported by strong fundamentals and improving business activity. What is particularly encouraging is the broad-based nature of this recovery, with multiple sectors and market segments contributing to growth. Healthy cash generation, strong balance sheets and improving profitability provide a solid foundation for FY27. While external risks remain, the overall earnings trajectory continues to support confidence in India’s long-term growth story and the attractiveness of Indian equities.”

Despite these positives, the report flags a slowdown in corporate capital expenditure as an area of concern. Capex growth moderated sharply to 9% in FY26 from 18% in FY25, even as cash generation improved. The slowdown was most pronounced in Energy and Utilities, raising questions around the pace of investment-led growth in the near term.

The most immediate concern for the market is the continued weakness in institutional flows. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded another day of net outflows on June 3, following significantly larger withdrawals earlier in the week. The loss of ETF demand has removed an important source of buying support that helped drive Bitcoin’s rally during the first half of the year.

On-chain and derivatives data suggest that the market is undergoing a broad deleveraging phase. Large amounts of leveraged positions have been liquidated during the recent sell-off, while blockchain analytics indicate that more than 15% of Bitcoin’s circulating supply was accumulated between $74,000 and $83,000. This creates a sizeable resistance zone if prices attempt to recover, as many investors may look to exit positions at breakeven.

The broader crypto market reflects the same cautious sentiment. Ethereum traded near $1,760, BNB around $600, XRP near $1.16, and Solana around $69, with most major assets declining between 5% and 8% over the past 24 hours. The absence of meaningful strength in large-cap altcoins suggests that investors are prioritising capital preservation rather than rotating into higher-risk assets.

The next major catalysts remain macroeconomic. Markets are closely watching upcoming US labour market and inflation data ahead of the June 16-17 Federal Reserve meeting. The market currently expects the US Federal Reserve to keep interest rates unchanged. However, any change in inflation data or comments from the Fed could affect market liquidity and influence risk assets such as cryptocurrencies.

From a technical perspective, Bitcoin faces immediate support around $62,000, followed by the important $60,000 level. On the upside, resistance is likely near $65,000, with a stronger resistance band emerging around $67,000-$68,000.

Our advice: Until ETF flows stabilise and Bitcoin regains the $65,000-$68,000 range, investors should focus on capital preservation and gradual accumulation rather than aggressive positioning. The recent decline appears to be driven mainly by broader economic conditions and liquidity concerns rather than weakness in the crypto market itself. However, volatility could remain high as investors wait for important US economic data and the upcoming Federal Reserve meeting.

Currency Market Live: Bitcoin dips below $63,000 amid global caution and sharp liquidations

“Bitcoin’s slide below the $63,000 mark reflects a phase of heightened caution across global markets, with over $1.1 billion in liquidations amplifying the downward move. Such sharp corrections are not uncommon in crypto cycles, particularly after extended periods of strong price appreciation. While short-term sentiment has weakened, the broader market continues to be influenced by institutional participation, macroeconomic signals, and expectations around monetary policy. Investors should avoid reacting emotionally to sudden price swings and instead focus on their long-term investment thesis.

At this stage, disciplined portfolio management becomes more important than attempting to time every market movement. Investors may consider staggered allocations through systematic investing rather than deploying large sums at once. Maintaining adequate liquidity and diversification remains essential, while closely tracking key support levels and market developments. Corrections often test conviction, but they can also create opportunities for investors who remain patient, informed, and focused on long-term wealth creation rather than short-term volatility.” – Avinash Shekhar, Co-Founder & CEO, Pi42

Stock Market Live: Nifty set for weak open near 23,200 as caution prevails

Gaurav Udani, Founder - Thincredblu Securities Pvt. Ltd.

I wanted to share the pre market quote by Gaurav, “Nifty is expected to open lower around 23,200, down nearly 200 points, indicating a weak start amid cautious global cues and continued uncertainty in the market.

The index is now approaching a crucial support zone of 23,000–23,200, which will be important to watch. A sustained move below this range could trigger further selling pressure and extend the ongoing weakness.

On the upside, 23,500–23,600 will act as the immediate resistance zone, and any recovery towards these levels may face selling pressure.

The market remains highly news-sensitive, with sentiment likely to be influenced by global developments, crude oil movements, and geopolitical headlines. As a result, traders should be prepared for sharp intraday swings and elevated volatility.

The overall setup remains cautious, and a level-based approach is advisable. Traders should avoid aggressive positions and wait for confirmation near support and resistance zones before initiating fresh trades.”

Indian government has approved a ₹100 billion Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) Price Stabilization Fund

The fund provides interest-free advances to Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to fix ATF prices for airlines, insulating them from extreme global price volatility

The measure is viewed as a positive for airline cash flows and helps stabilize operating costs, which currently constitute 40–60% of airline expenditure

Share market updates: Coralogix Raises $200M to Scale the Observability Backbone for the Age of AI

Coralogix, the data and AI platform for observability, today announced it has raised $200 million in Series F funding. The round was co-led by Advent, CPPIB, and Greenfield, with participation from Brighton Park Capital, bringing total funding in Coralogix to $550M.

“AI is fundamentally changing the way enterprises operate, and observability is quickly evolving into a core layer of business intelligence,” said Alek Ferro of Advent. “Coralogix has consistently stayed ahead of that transformation, building a platform designed for the scale, speed and complexity of the agentic era. Since our initial investment, the company has continued to accelerate innovation and market adoption, reinforcing our belief that Coralogix is positioned to define the future of AI-powered observability.”

Legacy Observability Was Built for a World That No Longer Exists

The funding comes as AI is reshaping the observability market. AI-powered applications are generating telemetry data at volumes, speeds and levels of complexity far beyond what traditional monitoring platforms were designed to handle. At the same time, AI agents are becoming the primary interface for enterprise users and engineering teams, answering production questions, investigating incidents, explaining anomalies and increasingly operating production systems directly.

This shift is exposing the limitations of legacy observability tools. Platforms built for static, sampled workloads often struggle under agentic-scale telemetry volumes, generate runaway ingestion costs as data explodes, and leave engineering teams with blind spots no dashboard or alert rule was designed to close.

Commodities update: Emkay Wealth Sees Gold Well Supported at Current Levels

According to Emkay Wealth Management precious metals continue to remain well supported despite intermittent volatility driven by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and sustained strength in the US Dollar.

Gold, after briefly crossing levels above US$ 5,000, is currently trading near US$ 4,500. Silver has similarly rebounded from about US$ 72 to around US$ 77, reflecting continued underlying demand despite short-term corrections.

Emkay Wealth said the medium- to long-term outlook for both metals remains constructive, supported by macroeconomic uncertainty, sustained central bank accumulation, and steady institutional allocation flows.

“Gold and silver are increasingly being viewed as strategic portfolio assets rather than short-term trading instruments. The current trend is driven more by structural allocation demand than speculative positioning,” Emkay Wealth Management said.

The firm highlighted that its gold fund recommendations were initiated in FY22–23 and reiterated through FY23–24 and FY24–25, while silver fund allocations were introduced from February 2025. Investors maintaining exposure over this period have benefited from both price appreciation and currency depreciation.

    Structural Drivers Remain Intact

According to Emkay Wealth, expectations of further US Federal Reserve rate cuts remain a key support factor, as they could weaken the US Dollar and improve bullion attractiveness. Continued central bank buying since 2022 has further strengthened the long-term price base.

Both gold and silver have also seen a multi-year technical breakout following nearly a decade of consolidation, reinforcing the broader bullish structure. Silver additionally benefits from rising industrial demand linked to clean energy transition and manufacturing applications, while gold continues to gain traction as a diversification hedge amid concerns over US fiscal and currency stability.

Unlike previous cycles dominated by speculative flows, the current rally is largely allocation-driven, which enhances its sustainability, the firm noted.
