Lisbon was illuminated on Monday night as the so-called 'strawberry moon' rose over the River Tagus.

From viewpoints across the city, tourists and locals watched the full moon rise above the river and historic centre. Many stopped to take photos as boats moved slowly across the water below.

Crowds gathered across different viewpoints to watch the scene unfold, with clear views of the river and skyline.

Named for the season of wild strawberry harvests in Europe and North America, the 'strawberry moon' gave Lisbon a rare and striking night scene.
