'Main carried away ho gaya, yeh meri badi galti thi' - watch video

Stand-up comedian Pranit More has broken his silence over the 'Rs 370 biryani' controversy involving Himanshu Jangra from Gurugram. Admitting his mistake, More said he got carried away as the audience laughed and apologised to those hurt. Maharashtra Cyber Police has filed an FIR against More and others.

Stand-up comedian Pranit More has finally spoken up about the controversy surrounding Himanshu Jangra, the 22-year-old from Gurugram who sparked outrage with his now-viral 'Rs 370 biryani' comment during one of More's comedy shows.

While More had already issued an apology, he now admitted that he had the power to stop Jangra from making those offensive remarks but failed to do so, as he got swept up in the moment seeing the audience laugh.

Pranit More returns to social media, says he deserves the hate

On Saturday, More, whose Instagram account had been suspended earlier, returned to social media with a video in which he openly accepted that the criticism coming his way is well deserved. He said, "Aap sabne mera crowd work ka video dekha hoga, jiske liye mujhe kaafi hate mil rahi hai, aur mujhe lagta hai main yeh hate deserve bhi karta hoon.

Kyunki us ladke se jab main crowd work kar raha tha, usne kaafi derogatory cheezein boli, but sab log us par hass rahe the.

Main bhi carried away ho gaya aur mujhse lapse in judgement ho gaya. Yeh meri kaafi badi galti thi. Main chahta toh usse wahan par rok sakta tha ya stand le sakta tha, jo main nahi kar paaya. Maine usse ek platform diya, jiski wajah se yeh cheezein itni escalate ho gayi."

"Jinko bhi iss wajah se hurt hua hai, un sabse main maafi maangna chahta hoon.

Jo bhi legal proceedings mere against ho rahi hain, uske liye main authorities ke saath co-operate bhi kar raha hoon. Main yehi request karna chahta hoon ki please mujhe ek chance do, main better insaan banke dikhaunga. Mere liye bhi ek learning thi, toh main khud par aur mere content ke upar bhi kaam karunga. Yeh cheez mere future ke kaam mein bhi dekh paoge," he added.
