Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayPort Adelaide has held on for a gutsy six-point win over West Coast in Perth, soaking up pressure in the last quarter for a much-needed victory.
The Eagles kicked 2.6 in the last term as they pressed the Power, but couldn't quite get over the line as Port hung on grimly to the death.
Earlier, Fremantle defeated North Melbourne by 124 points to claim the biggest win in its history.
The Dockers kicked the last 19 goals of the game to demolish a poor Kangaroos side 24.11 (155) to 4.7 (31) in Bunbury.
Logan Morris meanwhile kicked seven goals as Brisbane claimed a 31-point win over Gold Coast in the QClash.

That's it from the blog tonight
So that's that for a big day of footy. A good one for Freo, Brisbane and Port Adelaide and a disappointing one for North Melbourne, Gold Coast and West Coast (admittedly to varying degrees).
The blog will be back tomorrow, and we hope you join us again then. Goodnight!

Match report: Power snap losing streak with gutsy win in the west
Star West Coast defender Reuben Ginbey has been cut down by a quad injury as Port Adelaide snapped a four-game losing streak with a pulsating six-point AFL win at Optus Stadium.
In a nail-biting finish to Saturday night's match, West Coast came from 22 points behind late in the third quarter to close the margin to four points with three minutes remaining.
(Getty Images)The ball lived in West Coast's forward line for most of the last quarter, and the Eagles had their chances to snatch the lead.
But Port were able to finally clear the ball from their defence in the final two minutes of the game, with Mitch Georgiades kicking a point after the final siren to make it a six-point win, 11.11 (77) to 10.11 (71), in front of 47,479 fans.
The result improved Port's record to 4-8, while the Eagles slipped to 4-9.
But the biggest news of the match was the injury to Ginbey.
Ginbey had kept Georgiades goalless in the first half, but tore his quad while chasing the star Power forward 10 minutes into the third quarter.
The injury came just days after Ginbey re-signed with West Coast until the end of 2030, and just a week after Eagles coach Andrew McQualter said Ginbey was in All-Australian form.
Port midfielder Zak Butters racked up 27 disposals and seven clearances despite having to deal with tagger Brady Hough, while defender Esava Ratugolea tallied seven intercept marks in a masterful display.
Jason Horne-Francis kicked three goals for Port, while Jake Waterman kicked three for West Coast and defender-turned-forward Tom Cole kicked two.

The last two minutes of Port Adelaide's thrilling win
Backs to the wall and on the road, Port Adelaide hang on.

FT: PORT ADELAIDE HANG ON! Incredible Power win!
(Getty Images)A Mitch Georgiades miss after the siren means it's a six-point win for Port! The great escape in the west!
West Coast totally dominated that last quarter in terms of territory and shots on goal, but a return of 2.6 means they could never quite wrestle the lead away from Port who were defending for their lives.
In the final 90 seconds Port finally managed to breach the press and keep the ball at their end, and those late behinds from Burgoyne and Georgiades took the pressure off. Port Adelaide needed a win like this, especially given their record in close games this year. They did it ugly, and they certainly had some luck go their way late, but all that matters is that they did it.
The Eagles left too much to do too late in the end, but despite the result it's hard to argue they are taking steps forward. The loss of Reuben Ginbey will be a significant one for an already depleted backline, but there will be positives for Andrew McQualter to find here.
Port's night! All guts from Josh Carr's men.

Five-point game with four minutes left
The Eagles are coming hard now and are within a kick. There have been misses from Waterman, Reid and Cole, but still the Eagles come.
Port are now out on interchanges and a numnber of players are cramping. Can they hold on?

Tom Cole again! He keeps the Eagles in it!
The defender is loving his new life in the forward line, and his goals are keeping the Eagles in this game.
At no point did he think he could kick that goal from 50. But the adrenaline kicked in at some point, and his roost carried the line easily. Back to eight points. Eight minutes to play.

Jason Horne-Francis! Port end to end!
That might just about kill them off! There was a 50-50 ball on West Coast's half-forward, in fact it was probably 70-30 in favour of the Eagles, but Butters stormed past Davis to win the hard ball which set up the play.
Port had men everywhere out the back, and the play finished with the right man. JHF converts a massive goal.

Jake Waterman converts! Eagles within eight!
Lovely work from Bo Allan, who wore a late whack from Georgiades at the other end taking a brave intercept mark and now is involved several times in the attacking play which ends in a Waterman mark.
Waterman goes the snap set shot again, and again it works. Game all the way on now.

Still no goals in the last
Eagles have had most of the field position and have had misses from the boot of Waterman and Champion. First goal in the last quarter is going to be massive.
It's tough and physical all night. Thirteen minutes to play, 14-point game.

3QT: Port Adelaide 10.9 (69) lead West Coast 8.5 (53)
(Getty Images)All night it's seemed like Port Adelaide have been the cleaner and stronger side, and all night it's seemed like they were only five minutes of good footy away from putting the game to bed.
The Eagles are coming off a six-day break, have lost their best defender to a hamstring and have kicked more balls to Esava Ratugolea than anyone in their own guernsey.
But still, this one isn't done. A 16-point lead is certainly not enough for Port to be comfortable, and if the Eagles can rally the crowd in the last, perhaps something special is possible.
Port simply must see this out from here. Nothing to lose for the Eagles.

Tom Cole pulls one back for the Eagles before the buzzer!
With six seconds left on the clock, the Eagles have given themselves some life. Quick hands from congestion from Duursma, Reid, Murdock and Maric finally find Cole on the run from 50.
He hasn't kicked many like that in his career, but that's an important one. Eagles stay alive.

Jordon Sweet extends the Port Adelaide advantage
The Eagles defence has looked outmatched all night, and now with Ginbey off they look at breaking point. Georgiades took a contested mark 70 from goal before Sweet took one of his own 20 from goal.
The big ruck converts from close range and now this is a handy buffer late in the third quarter.

Jason Horne-Francis responds for Port
The Eagles defence falls asleep! Wines foxed them by lining up his set shot from 50, leaving a great big hole in the hot spot for JHF to be found with a clever kick.
He was never going to miss two in a row. Port hit back and lead by 15,

Willem Duursma with a brilliant goal! Eagles hit back!
A minute ago, Duursma was caught holding the ball in the back pocket by Horne-Francis in what could have been in a telling moment in the game. Horne-Francis missed.
In the opposite pocket on the ground, Duursma emerged again to intercept a handball, swoop on the loose ball and snap the goal. That is sensational from Duursma. Inspirational.

Mitch Georgiades goals, and Reuben Ginbey does his hamstring
An unmitigated disaster here for the Eagles. They've coughed up a goal out the back from two straight line kicks from the goalsquare, but Ginbey looks to have suffered a serious injury here.
Ginbey put everything he had into that chase on Georgiades, and it's cost him his hamstring. He limps straight to the rooms. Port by 15.

Elliot Yeo slams back an answer for the Eagles
Better from West Coast, who are able to force repeat entries and actually lower the eyes a little going inside 50. Clever kick from Johnston to find Yeo that time.
It's only 10 points. The Eagles really are sticking around.

Corey Durdin kicks a quick one for Port
Dam wall could break early here. Another handball turnover from Starcevich in defence sets Port away, and Durdin is able to mark uncontested and nail an easy set shot.
The Eagles are on the edge, Port up by 17 points.

Match report: Morris kicks seven in Lions' QClash win
Logan Morris has dined out with a career-high seven goals to help the Brisbane Lions snap a three-game AFL losing streak and heap pressure on rivals Gold Coast.
The 21-year-old reached deep into his bag of tricks at Carrara on Saturday and could have hit double figures if not for some inaccuracy in a 15.16 (106) to 11.9 (76) win.
(Getty Images)Morris (17 disposals) kicked four behinds and had one shot smothered and another touched on the goal line.
But it mattered little in a 31-point win that followed a trio of comprehensive losses that had dropped the two-time premiers out of the top eight and left them searching for confidence.
That came flooding back on Saturday as they improved to 7-6, while the Suns, fresh off a bye, dropped to 7-5 ahead of a trip to Geelong next week.
The Suns also lost Will Graham and Lachie Weller to hamstring injuries, while Bailey Humphrey sauntered off after a heavy collision late in the fourth quarter.
Lachie Neale (37 disposals, 10 disposals) set the tone with 15 first-quarter touches that included five clearances and a brilliant intercept.
Cam Rayner was explosive through the middle too, while Jaspa Fletcher found some touch and Darcy Wilmot ran freely out of defence as if to make a point of the Lions' desire to be bolder.
John Noble (36 disposals) was heavily involved for the Suns, while Dunkley kept Matt Rowell (15 touches, one goal) quiet, and Noah Anderson (26 disposals) had only eight touches at halftime.
