Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayPaul St-Pierre Plamondon says a Parti Québécois government will not hold a vote on Quebec sovereignty while U.S. President Donald Trump remains in office. The PQ leader took to social media Tuesday morning to reiterate his party’s priorities. “Yes, a Parti Québécois government will consult Quebecers on Quebec independence during its first term if it is elected,” he said. “A Parti Québécois government will not hold a referendum as long as Donald Trump is president of the United States.” The PQ is in the lead in voter intention polls ahead of Quebec’s provincial election this fall and has always pledged to hold a referendum in its first mandate if elected. As Dan Spector reports, the PQ's opponents are accusing it of going back on its word.
