The NTPC Simhadri has received the Green Enviro Environment Excellence Award-2026 in the Platinum Category at the 2nd Annual Green Enviro Award & Summit 2026 held in Guwahati on Friday.

According to NTPC Simhadri, the award recognises the thermal power station’s efforts towards environmental protection and sustainable development through the adoption of advanced environmental management practices.

The award was received by Surarapu Harikrishna, Deputy General Manager, on behalf of the NTPC Simhadri.

The station was recognised for implementing a range of environmental initiatives, including the installation of Flue Gas Desulphurisation (FGD) systems to reduce emissions, utilisation of fly ash and gypsum, and measures aimed at conserving water and energy.

Other initiatives cited include scientific waste management practices, promotion of renewable energy, afforestation programmes, and environmental awareness activities.
