Global sales for natural honey exports by country totaled US$2.48 billion in 2025.

Overall, the value of natural honey exports slowed by -8.8% for all exporting countries since 2021 when natural honey shipments were valued at $2.72 billion.

Year over year, the value of exported natural honey rose by 7.1% compared to $2.32 billion during 2024.

By value, the 5 biggest exporters of natural honey are New Zealand, mainland China, India, Argentina and the Ukraine. Combined, those 5 leading suppliers generated 45.8% of international sales of natural honey for 2025.

From the continents’ perspective, suppliers in European countries sold the highest dollar worth of natural honey exported during 2025 with shipments amounting to $955.8 million or 38.5% of overall international natural honey sales. That percentage compares with 26.7% from exporters located in Asia, 15.8% from Latin America excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, plus another 13.1% from Oceania led by New Zealand and Australia.

Smaller percentages came natural honey providers in North America (5.3%) and Africa (0.7%).

Among the top exporters, the fastest-growing natural honey exporters from 2024 to 2025 were: Mexico (up 38.9%), Belgium (up 34.9%), Netherlands (up 29.2%) and India (up 25.4%).

Those countries that posted year-over-year declines in their exported natural honey sales were: Vietnam (down -22.1% from 2024), Ukraine (down -4.3%), Australia (down -3%), mainland China (down -2%) and Germany (down -1%).

The fastest-growing sellers among the top 100 natural honey exporters were suppliers in Cyprus (up 168.3% from 2024), Bangladesh (up 124.2%), Nepal (up 100%), Norway (up 97.1%), Dominican Republic (up 96%) then Kazakhstan (up 90.7%).

The United States of America incurred the highest deficit in the international trade of natural honey.
