The lecture begins with a discussion of the "Question of Being", as it is posed in his magnum opus, Being and Time (1927). Heidegger's analysis of human existence as "Dasein", or "Being-in-the-World" is then discussed -- including his analysis of the equipmental character of beings as "ready-to-hand". Dasein's temporality and "Being-toward-Death" are also discussed. The lecture concludes with a summary discussion of Heidegger's later thinking, focusing on the topics of the History of Being (as the withdrawal of Being) and the Question Concerning Technology.
