North Melbourne wins a nailbiter in Perth after West Coast wastes a late chance, ahead of Port Adelaide hosting Sydney at Adelaide Oval.

Jake Waterman missed a kick with less than a minute on the clock, as the Kangaroos won by a point, 10.14 (74) to 10.13 (73) at Perth Stadium.

Earlier, talented Bombers backman Archie Roberts dislocated his right shoulder in a first-half tackle attempt as Melbourne recorded a 13.17 (95) to 6.14 (50) win at the MCG as both sides paid tribute to Neale Daniher.

Malcolm Rosas nails a set shot on the siren to draw the Swans to within a goal at quarter-time, and that's a very good result for them.

That's because Port dominated the clinches in the opening quarter.

Port leads the inside 50 count 18-10 and has a whopping 11-4 lead in the clearance count.

Joe Richards, Isaac Heeney and Callum Mills all have nine disposals apiece to lead all players.

Jordon Sweet, Richards, Mills, Jason Horne-Francis and Zak Butters each have two clearances.

Horne-Francis makes it three straight for Port

This is a really good start now for Port Adelaide!

Zak Butters sends the ball inside 50 and finds Jason Horne-Francis completely unmarked.

It's a tricky set shot from near the boundary, but Horne-Francis finishes beautifully.

Port by 10 points with three minutes left in the first term. Horne-Francis has six touches and two clearances.

Sweet puts Port in front off one step

What a finish this is from Jordon Sweet!

The big man gets on the end of a handball from Mitch Georgiades and then unleashes off virtually one step to put the Power ahead.

Sweet's got two clearances to go along with five touches and six hitouts. He's made a good start against Brodie Grundy.

Durdin strikes from close range

Finally Port Adelaide's territorial dominance pays off!

Corey Durdin nails a goal from close distance to continue a good season for the ex-Carlton forward.

Port leads the clearance count 9-0 and the inside 50 count 13-4.

Lloyd nails set shot as Swans stay efficient

Nick Blakey with a lovely kick inside 50 and he finds Jake Lloyd 40m out on a slight angle.

Lloyd goes back and drills the set shot to give the Swans a good start here.

They've got two goals from four inside 50 entries. Port, comparatively, has 11 inside 50s.

Port peppering the goals to no avail

Port having the better of the territory, but they're not able to make it pay on the scoreboard.

They've begun with five straight behinds, but lead the inside 50 count 8-3.

Curnow gets Swans on the board after transition

Charlie Curnow doesn't take long to strike!

The Swans are able to transition forward after a couple of repeat inside 50s from Port and Curnow capitalises on the chaos ball beautifully.

He picks it up off the ground and snaps it through on the left boot with Esava Ratugolea hot on his hammer.

It takes a ridiculous amount of coordination to kick a goal like that at Curnow's side.

Play underway between Port Adelaide and Sydney

The final match of today's AFL triple-header begins at the Adelaide Oval!

Some key match-ups at the first bounce: Esava Ratugolea is manning Charlie Curnow, Willem Drew on Isaac Heeney at the centre bounce.

I've also got to say, the combination of this mostly-black Port kit and Sydney's traditional red and white is absolutely sensational on the eye.

Teams are in for Power vs Swans

(AFL.com.au)

There are no late changes to either side for tonight's game, and you can see the lineups above.

Port Adelaide have three changes named from last week's win over West Coast.

Josh Lai is out injured, while Christian Moraes and Jacob Wehr have been omitted. In come Harrison Ramm, Kane Farrell and debutant Xavier Bamert.

Bamert is another one of the mid-season draftees. The midfielder-forward made a name with some strong performances for North Melbourne's VFL side.

For the Swans, there are two big outs. Tom McCartin's concussion and Justin McInerney's hamstring rule them out.

In come Joel Hamling and Harry Cunningham.

THE KANGAROOS HOLD ON BY THE SKIN OF THEIR TEETH IN PERTH!

Oh my goodness, that is an escape and a half after the Eagles came home with a wet sail, and then some.

The game came down to that Jake Waterman set shot, and unfortunately, you've just got to kick those at this level.

"I think we got away with it in the end," Kangaroos skipper Nick Larkey tells Fox Footy after the siren.

"Luck went our way, which it hasn't for a while. We'll take that win for sure."

Waterman looks absolutely distraught at the final siren and credit to the Kangaroos, who get around him.

Harry Sheezel finishes as the leading ball-winner with 32 touches and also added nine clearances, nine inside 50s and nine score involvements.

Tim Kelly was West Coast's high man with 27 touches and also added nine clearances of his own.

Waterman finishes the game kicking 3.3 in front of goal, while North's duo of Jack Darling and Nick Larkey combine for 8.1.

That late Jobe Shanahan miss will also haunt the Eagles, who can't say they weren't without their chances.

Waterman misses chance to put West Coast in front!

OH NO!

Jake Waterman misses a set shot from directly in front that would've put the Eagles in front!

There are 30 seconds left on the clock. Roos up by one point.

Shanahan kicks a ripper to draw Eagles closer!

Oh my goodness! Of course he kicks that one after missing a sitter!

Jobe Shanahan takes another big contested mark inside 50, this time it's deep in the pocket on a tough angle.

He goes for the banana and absolutely FLUSHES it!

The margin is just two points with 2:16 left on the clock.

Shanahan misses a sitter!

Oh my goodness, what a miss this is from Jobe Shanahan!

He's got a set shot from 20m out on a slight angle but sprays it to the right.

Roos by eight points with 3:30 left.

Into the last five minutes in Perth

Time slowly becoming West Coast's enemy here as we tick into the last five minutes.

The Eagles could make things really, really interesting if they can kick the next goal.

Lindsay with the veteran move in defence

Josh Lindsay displays maturity beyond his years by accidentally fumbling a ball on the goal line under pressure, and he gives up the behind to relieve the pressure.

Roos still holding onto a nine-point lead with eight minutes left on the clock.

Waterman makes it two straight for the Eagles

Here comes West Coast!

Elijah Hewett hits up Jake Waterman with a lovely short kick inside 50, and Waterman nails the set shot from virtually directly in front.

North's lead suddenly down to just nine points.

Shanahan keeps West Coast in the hunt

Once again, just as the Kangaroos look as if they're going to break it open, West Coast hits back.

Marcus Herbert finds Jobe Shanahan totally unmarked inside 50 and Shanahan drills the set shot from 40m out on a 45 degree angle.

Kangaroos leading by 15 points with 12 minutes left. Plenty of time on the clock.
