The Lone Tree Creek wildfire was spotted on Sunday afternoon, burning above Lions Bay in an area that was hard for firefighters to reach.
On Monday morning, it was classified as being held and there is no evacuation alert or order in effect due to this fire, the village said in an update.
“While this is very positive news, response activities are continuing,” the update read.

“Metro Vancouver and BC Wildfire Service will maintain suppression, monitoring, and assessment of the fire area. Lions Bay Fire Rescue will also continue to maintain situational awareness and coordinate with partner agencies as required.”

Massive thunder and lightning storm hits southern B.C.
