Lebanon marks Liberation Day — the 25th anniversary of Israel's withdrawal from the south in 2000 — as Israeli forces again occupy border villages and carry out air strikes across the country. Hezbollah held a gathering in Beirut's southern suburbs, vowing another liberation is imminent and claiming its explosive drones are inflicting casualties on Israeli troops and striking northern Israel. Israeli forces have responded with heavy air strikes on Tyre and Nabatieh. Tensions are also deepening internally, with Hezbollah criticising Lebanon's political leadership over talks with Israel and hinting at street action against the government.
