Lam Research Corporation, a U.S.-based semiconductor manufacturing equipment and solutions firm, on Tuesday said that as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative, it would launch Lam Research Skill Development Programme. It has launched training and placement support to help strengthen the talent pipeline for India’s advanced manufacturing sector, said the company.

By focusing on individuals from socially and economically disadvantaged communities, the programme would expand access to job-focused skilling programmes and employment opportunities that uplift historically under-served groups, he added.

“Through the Lam Research Skill Development Programme, we are investing in local talent and equipping participants with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed on manufacturing floors across multiple industries,’’ said Rangesh Raghavan, corporate vice-president and managing director, Lam Research India.

According to the LAM Research, key training components of the 240-hour programme includes electronics and mechanical assembly fundamentals; shop floor manufacturing processes; quality and inspection practices; safety, health and compliance; and workplace and employability skills. The program also includes structured assessments, hands-on practical exposure, and job-readiness modules. The participants who successfully complete the programme will receive an industry-recognised certification aligned to manufacturing industry requirements by an affiliated assessment agency of National Skills Development Council (NSDC).
