MP from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, spoke about the issue while addressing reporters after chairing a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Kullu.Although she did not name Trisha directly, Kangana appeared to refer to the controversy while highlighting how women in public life often become targets of abuse and character attacks. “You have seen what happened in Tamil Nadu, where a very respected artist and actress was involved in a matter where the relationship was between both parties. However, when it comes to abuses and character assassination, it is always the woman who is targeted," Kangana said.The actor-turned-politician further pointed out that such treatment of women is not limited to India. “We all know that this is not restricted to India alone and is prevalent worldwide that character of working women, successful women, actors, politicians, women at the position of power and authority is targeted to bring her down," she added.Kangana's remarks come weeks after Udhayanidhi Stalin found himself at the centre of a controversy over comments made during a political gathering in Thanjavur.

Udhayanidhi was addressing a DMK protest over the Cauvery water dispute and Karnataka's proposed Mekedatu project when he took a dig at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. As people in the gathering reportedly began chanting Trisha's name, Udhayanidhi made a remark in Tamil that roughly translates to: “Wherever water comes, whether it comes or not, water should come there.

" He immediately clarified that his reference was to Cauvery water.The comment, however, triggered a political uproar, with the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) accusing Udhayanidhi of making an offensive and objectifying remark about a woman in a public gathering. The controversy subsequently took a legal turn, with Udhayanidhi being arrested from his Chennai residence on August 4 after a case was registered over his speech. He was later granted bail.The episode has since reignited conversations around the treatment of women in public life, with Kangana now joining those speaking out against the targeting of women through alleged abuse and character assassination.
