As attacks restarted, Trump posted an AI-generated video on Truth Social, which shows “Kharg island being blown to smithereens,” despite no evidence Iran’s key energy hub had been hit. U.S. Vice President JD Vance addressed the post, saying Trump does not make announcements regarding military action on social media, but that he “just likes to switch it up,” and is simply, “sending a message to the Iranians.” The renewed hostilities come as the war enters its six-month mark, and a leaked military report warns against a protracted conflict.
