Globally, fresh eggs exported by country totaled US$4.2 billion in 2025.

That dollar amount results from an average 93% increase for all shippers of fresh eggs compared to $2.2 billion five years earlier during 2021.

From 2024 to 2025, the value of exported fresh eggs accelerated by 38.5% starting from $3 billion.

According to the information portal Farm Flavor, eggs rank among the world’s 10 most popular food ahead of apples then soup.

The 5 biggest exporters of fresh eggs are the Netherlands, Poland, Ukraine, United States of America, and Germany. Combined, that cohort of top suppliers generated almost half (49.5%) of the value for all fresh eggs exported during 2025.

Among continents, shippers located in Europe sold the highest dollar worth of exported fresh eggs during 2025 with international shipments valued at $3 billion or 72.1% of the global total. In second place were exporters located in Asia at 19.2% while another 5.7% of worldwide shipments for fresh eggs originated from North America mostly the United States of America.

Smaller percentages came from Latin America (2.6%) excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, Africa (0.24%) then Oceania (0.17%) mostly Australia and New Zealand.

For research purposes, the 6-digit Harmonized Tariff System code prefix is 040721 for fresh eggs in shell of domestic fowls (excluding eggs fertilized for incubation).

  11. Malaysia: $117.8 million (2.8%)

By value, the listed 15 countries shipped 82.5% of globally exported fresh eggs in 2025.

Among the top exporters, the fastest-growing fresh eggs exporters since 2024 were: Ukraine (up 249.3%), Romania (up 176.6%), Bulgaria (up 138.4%) and India (up 110.1%).

A pair of suppliers posted year-over-year declines in their exported fresh eggs sales, namely Türkiye (down -39.4% from 2024) and mainland China (down -9.5%).
