An AN-32 aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) met with an accident while landing in Assam's Jorhat district on Saturday (June 13, 2026), the force said. Five personnel were killed in the crash.
“Sqn. Ldr. Prashant Singh, Flt. Lt. Shubham Kumar, Sgt. Jitendra Sharma, Agniveervayu Khemaram Kumawat and Agniveervayu Danish Alam made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty,” the IAF posted on X, extending its condolences to the deceased.
A court of inquiry is being constituted to ascertain its cause.

The incident occurred while the aircraft, AN-32, belonging to 43 Squadron, carrying cargo, was landing at the IAF’s airbase in the Rowriah area.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) shared the update in a post on X. “An IAF An-32 aircraft met with an accident today while landing at Jorhat. A court of inquiry is being constituted, to ascertain the cause of the accident,” it said.
Senior IAF officials have rushed to the area, and casualty, if any, is yet to be ascertained, the spokesperson said, adding that the entire air force station has been sealed, and no entry is allowed.
