A Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus driver was killed and several passengers sustained minor injuries after a bus he was driving overturned near Jukkal crossroad in Kamareddy district around noon on Thursday (September 3, 2026).

The Hyderabad-Bichkunda bus, belonging to Hyderabad-1 depot, was travelling towards Bichkunda when it hit a roadside divider and overturned. The driver, Anjaneyulu, was trapped under the bus and died in the accident.

There were 13 passengers on board, all of whom escaped, though some sustained minor injuries. Police reached the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed shock over the accident and spoke to the RTC Managing Director, District Collector and SP over the phone to enquire about the incident.

The Minister directed officials to ensure better medical treatment for the injured passengers and asked the Regional Manager and other officials to reach the spot and supervise the relief measures. He expressed condolences to the family of Anjaneyulu and directed officials to coordinate to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident and provide necessary assistance to the victims.
