Canada's Minister of National Revenue François-Philippe Champagne, and India's Minister of Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman, spoke on advancing Canada and India's shared economic interests Thursday in an event hosted by the Canadian Club Toronto. "It's very momentous that we're meeting before the G20," Champagne said of trade relations between the two countries. "We're uniquely complimentary... At a time where the world is going through a lot of geopolitical tensions, I think if you're India, you want a stable, predictable and trusted partner." "The prime minister has set the course and level of ambition of this country," Champagne said of the groundwork Carney has laid in previous meetings with India.
