One of the most notorious fictional serial killers is back with Dexter: Resurrection set to return soon.

New images have been unveiled of Michael C. Hall as the famous antagonist, Dexter Morgan.

Dexter fans are losing their minds after new first-look images from the second season of Dexter: Resurrection were released by Paramount+.

The new season will see the titular character caught between two killers and while one is well-known for his crimes, the other is terrorising New York in unanticipated ways. If this was not challenging enough for Dexter, he is also battling his "greatest enemy yet: a midlife crisis".

Meanwhile, Harrison (Jack Alcott) continues his own pursuit of justice as father and son face their darkest chapter.

The new season will also see the return of stars Uma Thurman, Jack Alcott, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington and James Remar.

Some new actors have signed on for the second outing, notably Dan Stevens, Nona Parker Johnson and Brian Cox.

Fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to express their excitement over the new season, which is yet to secure a release date. However, Paramount+ did say it would be "later this year".

"How soon is soon?" one fan asked, while another shared: "I'm so excited, I'm bingeing the rest of Resurrection Season 1 right now."

Another viewer commented: "How soon is soon? I've missed my fave serial killer." A final fan shared: "Already so hyped."

The crime drama acts as a sequel to Dexter and Dexter: New Blood, and it made its debut in July 2025.

Set 10 weeks after the events of Dexter: New Blood, Dexter had recovered from his near-fatal gunshot wound and was tracing his missing son, Harrison.

Now, in Season 2, he will face Brian Cox's New York Ripper, a dangerous killer who taunts his victims, and Dan Stevens' Five Borough Killer - a serial killer that threatens the police with phone calls about murdering innocent people.

Nona Parker Johnson will play Fiona Mixon, a training officer in the NYPD Homicide department.

Desmond Harrington returns as Joey Quinn, a lieutenant of the Miami Metro Homicide Department, having been bumped up to a Season 2 regular.
