LIV Golf’s curtailed 2026 season – and potentially its final ever event – ended with a win for 22-year-old American Michael La Sasso and a team win for Legion XIII at LIV Golf Indianapolis held at The Club at Chatham Hills.

La Sasso, who is a member of Hyflyers GC, etched his name into LIV Golf records books as the youngest ever winner in the five-year history of the league. He fired rounds of 71, 60, 66 and 65 to finish on 18 under par to win by one shot from Jon Rahm, with Bryson DeChambeau and Sergio Garcia tying for third.

Having played in last year’s Walker Cup and won the 2025 NCAA Championship, La Sasso forfeited his invitation to play in this year’s Masters to join LIV Golf in January. Prior to this week’s win his only other top-30 finish was a tied 12th in South Africa, although his win in Indianapolis hauled him up to 14th in the overall individual standings for the season.

“I don’t even know what to say,” La Sasso said. “I’m shaking if I’m being honest. It was unbelievable. I thought I played great all day and just kind of waited for my moment, and it finally came on the last. Pretty funny.”

The prize fund for the event had been halved compared to previous events due to on-going financial pressures on the league, with Le Sasso earning $2m for the win, whereas previous individual winners had picked up $4m.

The team race belonged to Legion XIII , with team captain Rahm’s closing 63 anchoring a team score of 270, pushing Legion XIII to a four-round total of 44-under and a six-shot victory over HyFlyers GC, which finished second at 38-under on the back of La Sasso’s individual heroics. Ripper GC was third at 36-under, and 4Aces GC rounded out the top four at 32-under.

The Team Championship victory gives Legion XIII back-to-back titles and provided a fitting finale to Rahm’s season, in which he already claimed his third consecutive individual championship before adding the team crown in the season’s final event. The prize payout for the team title was $8.4m.

Despite claims of having an investor lined up for next season, there are fears that LIV will not survive beyond this year, with LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil having so far failed to confirm which investors are being lined up as potential backers or whether key players like Rahm and DeChambeau have committed to staying with the league.
