Canada-U.S. Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc and his team were in Washington Monday, racing to reach a deal before the Trump administration imposes new 50 per cent tariffs on a range of Canadian goods. The Canadian delegation and top American trade officials, including U.S. Trade Rep. Jamieson Greer, met with U.S. President Donald Trump’s commerce secretary in hopes of reaching an agreement. Canadian officials “seek to reach a comprehensive deal that delivers for businesses, workers, farmers and families on both sides of the border,” LeBlanc’s office said.
