Hundreds of homes in Brampton, Ontario are still without power after a single vehicle collided with multiple hydro poles around 1 a.m. ET, knocking out power to over 4000 homes and businesses in the Rosedale Ave. area. Police have confirmed that the driver has been arrested and has been charged with impaired driving. The driver suffered minor injuries. One neighbour who rushed outside with her daughter moments after the crash says the driver had an alarming request, saying “he was trying to get away,” and asked her daughter not to call the police. Hydro crews spent hours working to restore power, with the outage inconveniencing neighbours on an early Tuesday morning.
