Alex Jones delivered some "amazing" news moments into the latest instalment of The One Show.
During Monday's (March 9) episode of the popular BBC programme, Alex and her co-presenter Roman Kemp were joined by guests Elaine Paige, Tina Sinatra, Joel Harper-Jackson and Reverend Richard Coles.
As the show opened, Alex revealed thrilling news concerning Paddington Bear, following the cherished character's appearance on Friday's (March 6) edition of The One Show, which featured the 500 Words writing competition finale at Windsor Castle.
"We wanted to start by saying thank you for the amazing reaction to Friday's 500 Words grand final at Windsor Castle," Roman began.
"If you missed it, don't worry, you're still able to catch it all on iPlayer," reports Wales Online.
Alex continued: "One person who made a special appearance on the big night was Paddington Bear, and we must say congratulations to Paddington, because he picked up an amazing nine awards for his musical last night," with Roman observing it was "very impressive".
Paddington The Musical swept the WhatsOnStage Awards on Sunday night (March 8), securing nine accolades following its successful West End launch last year.
The production draws from Michael Bond's original children's novels and the recent film versions. It swiftly became a favourite amongst theatre-goers and garnered glowing critical reviews after opening at the Savoy Theatre in November.
The production's nine accolades represent the highest tally for a new show, matching the joint record previously established by Miss Saigon and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Paddington's triumphs included Best New Musical and Best Professional Debut for 17 year old performer Timi Akinyosade, alongside honours for its direction, costumes, makeup and sound design.
Meanwhile, acting category victors included Rachel Zegler, Jonathan Bailey, Amber Davies and Sir Stephen Fry.
Commenting on the results, Darius Thompson and Alex Wood of WhatsOnStage remarked: "The voters really did look after that Bear! Paddington's record-setting awards haul has firmly cemented it as a fan-favourite new addition to the West End."
Paddington Bear recently appeared alongside Queen Camilla for the finale of the 500 Words competition last week, with the royal delivering a heartfelt message that left BBC audiences feeling emotional.
The One Show airs weeknights on BBC One at 7pm
