Andhra Pradesh Greenfield capital, Amaravati, received a major connectivity boost.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has on Thursday inaugurated the Amaravati Seed Access Road and steel bridges connecting the Vijayawada–Guntur Old Highway.

The new connectivity is expected to make direct access to the capital faster, easier and more comfortable for motorists.

Addressing a public meeting after the inauguration, Naidu described the Seed Access Road as the “royal road” to Amaravati, saying its completion marked only the beginning of the capital’s infrastructure development.

The road would be extended in its third phase to connect with the National Highway at Tadepalli.

The Chief Minister said Amaravati would be developed as a world-class, pollution-free capital based on five key principles — an electric-poles-free city, a blue city with abundant water bodies, a green city with extensive greenery, a green-energy city and a deep-tech knowledge city.

major centre

Amaravati was being developed as a major centre for artificial intelligence, quantum computing and deep technology, with the proposed Quantum Valley emerging as a key component of the capital’s future.

Amaravati’s road network was being developed on the lines of access systems seen in ancient civilisations such as the Indus Valley Civilisation. The Centre, he added, had sanctioned a 190-km Outer Ring Road and a 96-km Inner Ring Road, which would further strengthen connectivity to the capital region.

The Chief Minister said Amaravati, Mangalagiri, Tadepalli, Guntur and Vijayawada corporations would remain within the capital region.

The fully developed Amaravati would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2028, Naidu said, according to a release.
