The All India Students’ Federation (AISF) activists staged a protest in front of the CBSE regional office in Vijayawada on Tuesday, condemning the alleged irregularities in the digital evaluation of the examination answer scripts. The leaders demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him morally responsible for the controversy.

Addressing the gathering, AISF State general secretary Bandela Nasser expressed outrage over the allegations of irregularities in CBSE’s digital evaluation process that surfaced within a month of the question paper leak controversy.

Citing examples of students who raised complaints that their answer scripts were not properly re-evaluated, he accused the Central government of playing with the futures of lakhs of students.

He alleged that the lack of transparency in the on-screen marking system had eroded students’ confidence in CBSE.

Federation’s State vice-president Sai Kumar said that CBSE had completely shifted from traditional manual-marking to a fully digital on-screen evaluation system this year. While the new technology was promoted as a faster and more transparent method, several technical problems reportedly emerged, including blurred scans, missing pages, portal crashes and service disruptions caused by heavy traffic.

He criticised the Centre, alleging that it was functioning in the interests of corporate entities and had failed to prevent repeated examination-related controversies.
